Do guests need an app or an account?

No app and no account for uploading, viewing the gallery or the live wall. The only optional sign-in is for PixelFind face search.

No. Guests upload, browse the gallery, leave messages and record voicemails from the browser on their phone. There is nothing to download from an app store and no account to create.

Why this matters

Every sign-in wall loses guests. The relatives with the photos you cannot get any other way are exactly the ones who will not install an app or remember a password at a wedding. This is the main reason hosts move from a shared album to a QR link; the comparison is in Google Photos shared album for a wedding.

The one optional exception

PixelFind face search asks the guest to sign in before matching a selfie. That is a privacy measure: a signed-in guest can only search for their own face, and the selfie is used for the match and then discarded. Guests who skip PixelFind still see the full gallery. See PixelFind privacy.

What the host controls

  • Allow Anonymous Uploads (Settings): on by default. Turn off to require sign-in before uploading.
  • Require login to download (Settings): off by default. Turn on if you want a name attached to every download.
  • Event Password: adds a single shared password for the whole event site. See password-protect your event.
