A password puts a gate in front of the whole event site: the website, the upload page, the gallery and the live photo wall. Guests enter it once on their phone and are through for the rest of the event. It is checked on our server, so the event's photos cannot be read from our database until a guest has entered it.
Steps
- Open the event, click Settings, and find Privacy.
- Turn on Require a password.
- Type the password into the box that appears. Short and speakable is better than strong here; guests will type it at a dinner table. Something like
june14beats a random string. - Save.
Tell guests the password
Print it under the QR code on your table cards and put it in the group chat. A guest who scans without knowing it sees a Private Event screen asking for it, with no hint.

Password protection is included on every plan, including Free.
What the password does not do
- It does not need entering on a screen where you, or a co-organizer, are signed in. On a venue TV that is not signed in, the live wall asks for it once.
- It does not stop a guest who knows it from forwarding both link and password. For events that need per-person access, also turn Anonymous uploads off and keep Require login to download on, so every action has a signed-in name attached.
Changing or removing it
Same place. Change the password and everyone who entered the old one is asked for the new one on their next visit, which is the fix if it leaked; turn the switch off and the gate disappears.
