A password puts a gate in front of the whole event site: the website, the upload page and the gallery. Guests enter it once on their phone and are through for the rest of the event.
Steps
- Open the event, click Settings, and find Privacy & Security.
- Turn on Require Password to View your Event Site.
- Type a password into Event Password. Short and speakable is better than strong here; guests will type it at a dinner table. Something like
june14beats a random string. - Save.
Tell guests the password
Print it under the QR code on your table cards and put it in the group chat. A guest who scans without knowing it sees a Private Event screen asking for it, with no hint.
Plans
Password protection is a paid feature; the pricing page shows which plans include it. On Free the setting is locked.
What the password does not do
- It does not gate the live photo wall link separately; the wall is meant to run on a screen you control. Do not share the wall link.
- It does not stop a guest who knows it from forwarding both link and password. For events that need per-person access, turn on Allow Anonymous Uploads off and Require login to download as well, so every action has a signed-in name attached.
Changing or removing it
Same place. Change the password and guests are asked for the new one on their next visit; turn the switch off and the gate disappears.
