A guest cannot upload: what to check

Uploads fail for a short list of reasons: window not open, free cap reached, file over 10 MB, uploads turned off, or no signal. Check them in order.

Ask the guest what they see on screen, then match it below.

"This event hasn't been activated yet" or a 100-photo message

The free cap is reached. Upgrade the event from the dashboard; the guest can retry immediately. See upgrade your event.

"Over the 10 MB limit"

The file is too large, almost always a video. Ask for a shorter clip or a photo instead. Details in upload limits.

No upload button at all

Two possibilities. Either Enable Photo Uploads is turned off under Settings, then Gallery Settings, or the upload window has not opened yet. Uploads open on the event date; if a guest tries the week before, the button is not there. Check the event date under Edit Event Details.

The upload window has closed

Free events close 30 days after the event date, Small Event after 3 months, Mid-Sized after 6 months, Large after 12 months. Upgrading reopens it at the new plan's length.

"Upload failed, check your connection"

Venue signal. The page keeps what the guest selected; they can tap Upload again when they have bars or Wi-Fi. Nothing is lost.

The page asks for a password

You set an Event Password. Share it on the sign or in the group chat, or remove it under Settings, then Privacy & Security.

The page asks the guest to sign in

Allow Anonymous Uploads is off. Turn it back on under Settings unless you specifically want sign-in.
