How to set a custom event URL

Replace the random event ID in your link with something guests can type, like nisha-and-anil. Lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens; the QR code keeps working.

A new event's link ends in a generated ID. You can replace it with a slug such as nisha-and-anil so the link is readable on a sign and easy to say out loud.

Steps

  1. Open the event in your dashboard.
  2. In the Event URL & QR Code card, click Customize URL at the top right.
  3. Type your slug in Custom URL. Only lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens are allowed; the field lowercases and strips anything else as you type. The Live Preview shows the final address.
  4. Save. If another event already uses that slug you are asked to pick a different one.

What happens to the old link and the QR code

The QR code and your event links update to the new slug. If you already printed cards with the old ID-based link, they still open the event, so nothing you printed is wasted. Re-download the QR code if you want new prints to carry the readable link.

Choosing a good slug

  • Short and speakable: priya-rahul beats priya-and-rahul-wedding-2026.
  • No spaces, no capitals, no special characters. Hyphens only.
  • Avoid guessable generic words if you care about privacy; combine it with an event password instead.
